Diablo 3 Announced!
This Saturday Diablo III was announced at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational! I don't remember when previously I have been so excited about an upcoming game. After reading all there was to be read on it, and having watched the 20 minute gameplay video, I am convinced it will have none of the shortfalls I had been fearing from a possible Diablo sequel.
The game is now in superb 3d graphics with fully interactive and still randomly generated enviroments, as well as a proper physics engine. I am very happy to say that the game is still from the tradition camera angle, and looks just as playable as before. The enviroments also look pleasingly gloomy and the monsters better than ever. Graphics wise I couldn't have hoped for anything better.
The interface and gameplay are fairly familiar, something which I think is a very good thing. Staying with tried and true methods of gameplay is often frowned upon these days when the market it stiffled with poorly made clones of once succesful formats; for example the World of Warcraft rip offs the world of MMO's is full of. I however, love the game play of the Diablo series, and though I have searched, no rip off has pleased me. Blizzard have of course made numerous improvements, but the game is at its heart still Diablo.
As far as characters go, only two out of five have been revealed, the traditional barbarian and the new witch doctor. Neither of them are especially to my taste, but the barbarian I must admit looks cooler than ever. All the classes can be either male or female, and I understand the appearance of armour has been modelled specifically for each class.
As of yet, there is no release date, but apparently the game has already been four years in developement, with still some time to go. Nevertheless I am very excited. Now, in addition to Empire: Total War, I have another game to look forward to.
Be awed at the official Diablo 3 website.

Right you are! Perhaps the cinematic teaser might tempt you however?
Aww be quiet Olli. You are so narrow minded.
Actually I like the way RPGs are somewhat boring. Its nice there are games that don't need 100% consentratetion like FPS games for example.
Diablo 3! Waaargh! Nice!
Pyry, as long as the games are not as boring as "Metin 2"
